Ever since they opened up a second brewery in Asheville NC, those of us on the less hippified side of the Mississippi can get a lot fresher stuff now. I’m happy. Oskar Blues also opened an NC brewery. I love them as much as any brewery out there (except maybe Lagunitas).

I should also note, I celebrated my most recent birthday in November at the New Belgium brewery in Asheville. Their Dubbel is quite good.

I’m not a fan of Belgium beers.

I’ve had Flat Tyre before though and Hand Brake ciders. Lol.

Kinja'd!!!

Not great. I’ll stick to the pear ciders.

I’m supping Guinness (well finished three, about to start enjoying a fourth).

It’s January. 5 months until May.

Do IT!

Apparently there will be more in my near future. At the request of her friend we bring the fireball, she’ll have beers chilled.

My wife drinks the ciders and the mikes hard lemonade type flavors for the Glutenless factor.

It took me a while to drink and enjoy Guinness. Good stuff now.

But have you had NEW Belgium? Some of the best brews come from that little Colorado shop

The 100 Acre Wood rally trophy ceremony and dinner (a few years ago) had fat tire on tap & free, I was bummed I could only have 1 because I was driving myself.

I’m dealing with a cold, and as usual when i’m sick I lose my taste for beer until I’m better. Taking plenty of meds though, some of which have alcohol, so I’m not totally out of it.

I’m in the U.K. so never heard of the brand or tasted it. I assumed it was a (old) Belgium beer.

I don’t care for IPAs either. I kind of wonder if the Guinness & new castle brown ale are same here as imports as domestic there. Or if they have an “Imported” formula they ship out.

No sir; it’s one hell of a delicious American take on a standard Belgian. Since we don’t have purity laws we get to take creative license

I like IPAs, wheat ales are a different matter.

The Guinness and Newcastle Brown Ales are the same as far as I’m aware.

Aaarrghhh. I hate that term, ‘creative licence’.

I hear it and it’s like hearing the word ‘style’ after something.

It doesn’t bode well. Lol.

I love Fat Tire. I usually have some on hand.

I’m probably going to have a little of some Balvenie in a bit to celebrate my last day at work. I start my new job on Monday and I’m looking forward to it.

A coworker (with 20 years in) put in his 2 week notice today and they basically let him go. He is going to be working with another coworker who allegedly embezzled money from the company. I saw him on his way out and asked about some jobs and he said “technically I don’t work here anymore.”

guinness.

Their old logo had a line between F and A. I was a on a business trip to CO and my co workers and I kept ordering flat tire. We got a couple odd looks, until the third night, when we finally realized it fat.

Wow. That’s pretty terrible all around.

I’d been with my company for over twelve years, and it was time for a change. They were very nice to me over the last two weeks and ordered lunch for the whole office today.

I can kind of understand the “if you don’t need us, we don’t need you” GTFO, 2 week notice rejection. I guess that’s just business in the construction industry, but dang.
